Your first five minutes

By the end of this page the bot knows when your day starts and ends. To run a command, type / in the message box of any channel in the server, pick the command from the list and fill in its options. The replies are only visible to you.

  1. Check your profile.

    Run /whoami.

Example of the bot in Discord

    You type

    /whoami

    Doge Bot replies

    Name: Sam

    Discord ID: 123456789012345678

    Timezone: not set

    Working hours: not set

    Only you can see this

A new member sees not set twice.

  2. Set your timezone and working hours.

Run /hours set with a start, an end and your timezone, such as 9am, 5pm and New York. For the timezone, start typing a city and pick the suggestion.

Example of the bot in Discord

    You type

    /hours set start: 9am end: 5pm zone: America/New_York

    Doge Bot replies

    Working hours saved: 09:00 to 17:00 (America/New_York)

    Only you can see this

If you save during your work day and have not posted in the stand-up channel yet, the bot also sends your stand-up reminder at once, and the reply says so. Nothing is sent if whoever runs the bot has switched reminders off or has limited them to a few people and you are not one of them.

Example of the bot in Discord

    You type

    /hours set start: 9am end: 5pm zone: America/New_York

    Doge Bot replies

    Working hours saved: 09:00 to 17:00 (America/New_York)
You have not posted in #stand-up yet today, so I sent you a reminder.

  3. See your reminders.

    Run /reminders list.

Example of the bot in Discord

    You type

    /reminders list

    Doge Bot replies

    follow-up: on request with /follow

standup (on): #stand-up, at the start of your work day, 120 min after

    Only you can see this

The bot shows the channel as a link, written here as #stand-up. If it says not set, the reminder has no channel yet and does nothing until the bot finds a channel named stand-up (with a hyphen) or an admin picks one.

Reminders an admin has switched off are not listed. follow-up is the reminder you ask for yourself with /follow or by tagging the bot (mentioning it with @), and it is always there because admins cannot switch it off from Discord. An admin is a member with the Manage Server permission.

Channel reminders use your timezone and working hours, and so do the Tomorrow and Next working day choices when you set a follow-up. Scheduled summaries use your timezone and do not reach you until it is set.
